Alone in the dark
How did I get here?
Again
I didn’t want to
Yet here I am
Again

Every day I wake up
I say “not tonight”
Every night
I’m here
Again

Self loathing
Obese
Isolated
Body Aches
Again

Then I met you
I act “as if”
I write to you
I hit my knees
I ask for relief
Again

I wake up
I didn’t eat
I ask for help the next night
You give it to me
Again

Night after night
Day after day
You remove my binging
Heaviness falls away
Again

No more self-loathing
No more isolation
Health and fitness
I return to the well
Again

Always THERE
Always trustworthy
Always loving me
Helping me to love myself
Again
