New Beginnings

With all the earnestness at our command, we beg of you to be fearless and thorough from the very start.
– Alcoholics Anonymous p. 58

Welcome to the new website and the new blog. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my experience, strength and hope! I’ve gone through a lot of holidays, birthdays, happy times, sad times, and scary times abstinent and walking hand in hand with my higher power. I’ll share what works for me, what doesn’t, and we’ll probably laugh along the way.

OASV - the best time is now for new beginnings

When I came into OA in 1994, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I might find a way to lose some weight, hoped I might regain some of my shattered self esteem, but I never expected the amazing gifts that have come as a direct result of working this program. Today, all these years later, I have a life beyond my wildest dreams, one that keeps expanding and growing, all as a direct result of showing up one day at a time no matter what. I still sometimes think about what it was like and am awestruck by the change.

Whether you are a newcomer, seasoned old-timer or anywhere else in between, I hope that as you read this blog you consider sharing your own experiences, your own ideas, your own words, poems, drawings and photographs, so this site can be a true reflection of all our voices shouting and singing aloud that we have a program for living that works.
